Pearl Jam for quite some time now has been completing a newly, highly anticipated album named “Backspacer.” The album will be released on September 20th around the nation as well as with the kick off of the tour.

The tour is a kick off to their new studio album and will start in their hometown of Seattle, Wash., on September 21. With acts such as Ben Harper and Relentless 7, Pearl Jam will be rocking around the nation and will end up in our quaint little city on October 9, playing at Viejas Arena.

The San Diego shows are always a homecoming of sorts for the band, as Eddie Vedder spent a majority of his youth living and working in Encinitas, in addition to attending San Dieguito High School. He then became an integral part of the late 80s San Diego music scene, as a member of various bands including: Surf and Destroy, The Butts, Indian Style and, most famously, the very popular live funk band Bad Radio.

Break out the plaid and torn-up jeans, as you’re going to want to jump on this one as quick as possible. Pearl Jam is one of the bands that is a must see, and will definitely rock the whole show. Buy your tickets before they are all gone, and prey that the grunge gods will smile upon you if you don’t.
