DJ AM’s untimely death has shocked both fans and celebrities alike, stirring up questions as to where Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) will be laid to rest. Goldstein was a New York resident, and his remains are currently being held at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home in New York for further autopsy. However, it has been determined that Goldstein will be buried in Los Angeles, California due to the wishes of his mother, who is currently living in Los Angeles.

The cause of DJ AM’s death is still undetermined. His body was found in his New York apartment in the SoHo district at 11:40 P.M. Friday beside a crack pipe and prescription drugs, leaving many to speculate an overdose. However, initial toxicology results were inconclusive and further tests are being done. Unfortunately, the results are expected to take several weeks.

Goldstein had admitted to struggling with drug addiction in the past, but had claimed to be sober for years. Many speculate that the disk jockey could have relapsed due to his break up with model Hayley Wood a few weeks ago. People magazine reports hat a source claims, “She ended it, and he didn’t want it to end. The breakup hurt him. He hadn’t been in a good place lately. For the past week, he wasn’t really around, he was keeping to himself, and he was blowing people off.”

But what DJ AM did not blow off were his professional responsibilities. The week leading up to his death he had deejayed at Rain Nightclub in Las Vegas, where a source says he was “super chill, like he always is.” Goldstein had also attended a Marilyn Manson concert with Pink’s husband, Carey Hart, earlier that evening. And on Tuesday night he was in the DJ booth at the Atlantic City club Dusk. On Aug 23 Goldstein also visited Citi Field where he threw out the first pitch at the Mets game. A neighbor, whose brother saw him afterward told People, “He said he was very nice and he seemed cool. He said everything looked normal.”

But despite speculation, the coroners are awaiting the toxicology results that will come in a few weeks. For now, they claim that they are not ruling anything out, including suicide.

But whatever the reason is for DJ AM’s tragic death, his fans remain loyal to his legacy. The DJ will be remembered for his talent and for absolutely loving what his did. Goldstein was such a big presence on the Hollywood scene, performing at the most exclusive parties and getting paid as much as $25,000 per performance. His musical ability has been praised by celebrity friends such as Travis Barker and John Mayer, and his talents have gained him fame throughout the US. He will be sorely missed by the Hollywood community, but especially by his fans.

The funeral is said to be set for Thursday but no official word has been made.
