Summer will officially end in a few weeks. How will you spend those last weeks? Movie-goers can enjoy these latest excellent movies. Two will be released this Thursday night (“The Family” and “Insidious: Chapter 2”) and the other, “Riddick” was recently released last week. To help decide on the movie choices, we have listed detailed descriptions of these latest excellent films.
That’s right, people. Vin Diesel is back on the screen as our action-packed figure Riddick. In this latest installment to the “Riddick” franchise, our hero finds himself a fugitive once again and isolated on a sun-scorched planet. Betrayed and desperate to escape, Riddick battles against more alien predators that are deadlier than he has faced before. Through these vicious battles, Riddick becomes more powerful than he ever was. When he activates an emergency distress beacon for help and rescue, Riddick accidently attracts the attention of mercenaries out for blood and revenge. To survive, Riddick hopes to use the planet’s resources and predators as his personal weapons. Who will win?
What if you found yourself on the run from Mafia thugs? Turn to the family of course. In this hilarious comedy, Fred Manzoni (Robert De Niro), an American ex-Mafia boss of Brooklyn, and his family find themselves in the witness protection program after he turned snitch. However, old habits die hard for the exiled mafia family. As they continuously fall back to their law-breaking ways, the family keeps attracting the attentions of the thugs that are out to get them. Agent Stansfield (Tommy Lee Jones) tries to relocate the family every time, but realizes that no matter where they are, trouble finds them. Now, in the family’s latest relocation to a quiet village in France, the family will have to resort to using their special skills to help protect them from the multiple assassination attempts coming their way. The quiet and peaceful villagers will soon find out they are caught in the middle of crossfire between Mafia gangs. Will the family survive?
Insidious: Chapter 2
The Lambert family returns in the “Insidious” sequel. Screenwriter Leigh Whannell and Director James Wan bring to the screen more terrifying horrors for the family. Soon, the Lamberts will discover their troubles with the supernatural realm are far from over. A long term and mysterious childhood secret quickly reconnects them to a world of terror, darkness, and malevolent spirits. The star cast of characters in the film includes Josh Lambert (Patrick Wilson), Renai Lambert (Rose Byrne), Dalton Lambert (Ty Simpkins), and Elise Rainer (Lin Shaye). How will the family endure this new set of horrors thrown upon them?
