‘Mary Poppins Returns’
You’re in for a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious treat because Mary Poppins is coming back for a sequel called ‘Mary Poppins Returns.’ To make things even more super, Julie Andrews approves of the making of this sequel and the newly announced star who will play the new Mary Poppins. The movie is set to come out December 2018, but we think it’s going to be worth the wait.
‘Mary Poppins Returns’ will star Emily Blunt, known for her roles in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and ‘The Girl on the Train,’ as Mary Poppins. Other stars in the film include Meryl Streep as Topsy and Colin Firth as William Weatherall Wilkins. The film is directed by Rob Marshall and the writers are David Magee and P.L. Travers. With all these stars, we are certain that this film won’t be one to miss.
Recently, Julie Andrews interviewed on The Today Show with Hoda Kotb to discuss her release of ‘Despicable Me 3,’ and the news of the new Mary Poppins. Andrews starred as Mary Poppins in the fantasy film back in 1964. When asked about the new star of Mary Poppins, Emily Blunt, Andrews was excited and outwardly exclaimed her adoration for Blunt.
She even said, “I’m a huge fan,” Andrews said of Emily Blunt. She even gave Blunt the complete and utter stamp of approval and said, “I give it wholeheartedly… I love her. She’s real, and fun, and very talented.”
If Julie Andrews gives the movie and the new Mary Poppins a stamp of approval, clearly we’re in for a great film in the future. Unfortunately, we have a lot of time to kill before the sequel ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ comes out in December 2018. In the mean time, eat a plentiful amount of spoonfuls of sugar to pass the time. Also, watch the first Mary Poppins, starring Julie Andrews, to get excited for what’s to come!
