Fall Movie Releases
Fall has officially arrived for us. With the chilly weather slowly creeping up on us, it is time to decide how to escape it. One way to do that is by going to the movies. This week’s update of movies shows a fantastic list of potential films to see. To help viewers decide on the selection, we provide a review of this week’s new flicks.
Rush
Set in the 1970’s, “Rush” focuses on the intensity and rivalry of Formula 1 racing. Two of the greatest rival drivers the world has ever seen will wage war upon each other on the racetrack as they push themselves to the limit in order to be the best.
According to Fandango, “The epic action-drama stars Chris Hemsworth as the charismatic Englishman James Hunt and Daniel Brühl (‘Inglourious Basterds’) as the disciplined Austrian perfectionist Niki Lauda, whose clashes on the Grand Prix racetrack epitomized the contrast between these two extraordinary characters, a distinction reflected in their private lives.”
However, the racetrack is no soft picnic. One mistake on the track could cost your life.
Don Jon
In the comedy drama “Don Jon”, the story concentrates on the lives of two contrasting characters who find a surprising amount of intimacy between each other. Jon Martello (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a New Jersey man with traditional family views, yet is addicted to computer porn. Additionally, he finds himself a new woman every weekend, thus earning him the nickname, “Don Jon.” However, Jon finds himself in deep waters when he comes across good girl Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson), who dreams of old-fashioned love and finding her prince.
“Wrestling with good old-fashioned expectations of the opposite sex, Jon and Barbara struggle against a media culture full of false fantasies to try and find true intimacy in this unexpected comedy written and directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt” (Fandango).
Will they find true love with each other, or will reality not live up to their fantasy expectations?
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2
The wacky food scientist Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader ) is back in this latest sequel. Flint is now living the dream life. He has his girlfriend, Sam Sparks (Anna Faris), and currently works under the leadership of his idol Chester V at the Live Corp Company. Life for Flint has been bliss since he destroyed his food weather machine.
However, to his horror, he discovers the machine never got destroyed and has been creating monstrous food animals. Recruiting his friends, Flint has to save the world again from his machine by battling “foodimals” that include cheespiders, shrimpanzees, and tacodiles.
How will Flint destroy the machine in the food chaos?
