Tomorrow is last Chargers practice open to public
Nearly 20,000 Charger fans reunited at the Q over the weekend as the Chargers took the field for fans to see for only the second time in this year’s traning camp.
Unlike past training camps, this year’s preseason camp has been closed off from the public due to construction within Charger’s practice facility to fix a busted drainage pipe that has been giving the grounds crew at Chargers Park nightmares.
Wednesday is the last of three practices open to the public that are taking place at Qualcomm Stadium. Practice is scheduled from 7:00 to 9:20 pm with parking lots open at 5 pm and the stadium itself opening at 6 pm. Parking and admission are free along with $1 hot dogs throughout the night.
Saturday’s practice was dedicated to the fans from the first practice whistle at 11 a.m. Cars began to flow in with the gates opening at 8 am and a sizable crowd was at the Q for gates at 930 am. Plenty of kids lined up for autographs from players, and most went home happy. The Charger Girls were also there meeting fans and giving autographs.
After Wednesday’s open practice, Charger fans won’t get to see their team take the field until their Saturday’s preseason game against Seattle at 7 p.m.
