Kobe Bryant Injured as Lakers Push for Playoffs

Kobe_Bryant_Drives2The Los Angeles Lakers have had their fair share of problems this season, many of which have come from injuries to key players Dwight Howard, Pao Gasol, Steve Nash, Steve Blake, and Jordan Hill. It seems that Kobe Bryant is the newest member of the injured roster, after spraining his ankle in Wednesday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks.

It is clear that defender Dahntay Jones crowded Bryant as he as took the shot. Bryant landed on Jones’ foot, spraining his akle. Bryant believes a foul should have been called because he says Jones pushed his him into him in a dangerous manner. Kobe explains more in a post-game interview:

In response to what appears to be some backlash from Kobe fans, Dahntay Jones has posted a number of posts via Twitter, explaining his side of the story.

The Lakers have reported Kobe will be out indefinitely.

Atlanta beat the Lakers 96-92 which puts the Lakers a game and half behind the #7 spot in the West, behind the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors.
