Attention all hockey fans in San Diego! There is still competitive hockey to watch here since the Semi-Pro San Diego Gulls departed a few years ago.  The San Diego State Aztecs are about to kick off their 2009-2010 season on September 18th at their home rink, the Joan Kroc center located about two miles from campus.

The Aztecs play in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and are considered one of the top teams in the western conference. The Aztecs are a very competitive team with many skilled scorers, passers and big hitters. In fact, just two seasons ago the Aztecs made it all the way to the National Championship game in Rochester, Minnesota. Because of their dominance that year, the Aztecs moved up to division two, but were ousted in regional this past season, leaving the Aztecs hungry and itching to get back on the ice this fall.
