Catch a rooftop movie

Catching a movie is a classic date idea, so why not take it a step further and catch a flick at San Diego’s Rooftop Cinema Club. This outdoor rooftop theatre screens a variety of cult classics, new releases, and cinematic masterpieces. They offer a fully stocked drink and snack bar, plus they offer bottomless popcorn with certain ticket purchases! Be sure to grab a ticket for the love seat so you and your date can snuggle up and keep warm.

Take a brewery tour

As we all know, San Diego is the undisputed champ when it comes to the craft beer scene. Take advantage of this by going on a brewery tour, giving you the opportunity to try out the best spots San Diego has to offer. Most tours will include pickup and drop-off, in addition to in-depth knowledge of the craft beer scene and of course plenty of tastings.

Go to an arcade

I don’t know about you, but when I was a kid, the arcade was the coolest place ever. Relive that childhood nostalgia with your date at one of San Diego’s arcades, churning up some friendly competition between you two.

Take a sip and paint class

Get in the creative mood at a paint and sip class like Pinot’s Palette. Grab a glass of wine, and prepare for a guided painting session with an instructor. If your painting skills are laughable at best, the class still makes for a fun and unique experience for a date, and you’ll have something to remember it.

Visit a speakeasy

Get all dressed up and sip in style at one of San Diego’s many hidden speakeasies. The clandestine and mysterious vibe of these secret bars makes the experience all the more fun.

Grab a scoop or two at Hammond’s Gourmet Ice Cream

You can’t go wrong with going out for a scoop of ice cream, and Hammond’s is the ultimate spot for this creamy treat. Spring for their ice cream flight, allowing you and your date to sample of Hammond’s 100+ flavors.

See a comedy show

Laughter is the best way to connect with someone, and what better place to do that than a comedy show? San Diego has a handful of excellent comedy clubs, each featuring plenty of comedic talent that is sure to have you doubled over in laughter. Head over to The Comedy Store in La Jolla, which has been in the comedy biz since the ’70s. Or check out American Comedy Co. in the Gaslamp District.

Test your knowledge at a trivia night

Got a knack for remembering random facts? Maybe you’re an all-star when it comes to movies or music. Whatever it is, get in the competitive spirit at a trivia night in San Diego.

Stargaze

If you’re up for a drive, head over to the Palomar Observatory in Palomar Mountain. Here, you’ll find the Hale Telescope, giving you the opportunity to see magnificent views of the stars.

Go ice skating

With the holiday weather upon us, now is the perfect time to go ice skating. Take your date to one of San Diego’s ice rinks and practice your figure eight and show off your grace on the ice. Be sure to grab a cup of cocoa afterward!
