Halloween Activities and Attractions in San Diego 2010

Trick or treat! Halloween is just around the corner, and there are lots of activities in town to celebrate this spooky festival. If you consider yourself too old for trick or treat around the neighborhood, and prepared for some thrilling, scary scenes, check these events out:

Scream Zone

October 14th-17th , and 21st-31st, 2010

7:00 p.m.-midnight, Fridays & Saturdays
7:00-11:00 p.m., other days (when open)

Scream Zone is located at 2260 Jimmy Durante Boulevard in Del Mar, also known as the “Scaregrounds.” This year Scream Zone is featuring three new haunted attractions: The House of Horror, Haunted Hayride and The Chamber. With all new themed room with blood-curdling scenes in The House of Horror, terrifying ride for a creepy trip at Haunted Hayride and the largest labyrinth in San Diego along with several frightening dead ends at The Chamber, you know you want to come.

The House of Horror is recommend for age 10 or above.

Triple (Combo) Haunt: House of Horror, Haunted Hayride & The Chamber — all 3 for just $27.99
Double Haunt: The Chamber plus House of Horror or Haunted Hayride — $18.99
Single Haunt: House of Horror or Haunted Hayride — $14.99

The Haunted Hotel

September 24th – October 31st, 2010

Friday & Saturday: 6:00pm – 1:00am
Sunday – Thursday: 7:00pm – 11:00pm
Closed on Monday and Tuesday except for Oct. 25th and26th.

Located at 424 Market Street downtown in Gaslamp District, The Haunted Hotel prepared all new scary themes and decorated rooms to bring you the fear and trembling experience from the horror films in the past, including Shutter Island and Alice and the Wonderland. Ready to SCREAM!

Recommend for age 10 or above.

Admission prices as below:

At the Gates : Sunday – Thursday (SAVE $2)
General Admission is $15.
VIP Hotel ( Hotel admission and the Fast Pass) is $25.

At the Gates: Friday & Saturday:
General Admission is $17

The Haunted Trail

September 24th – October 31st, 2010

Friday & Saturday: 7:00pm – 11:45pm
Sunday – Thursday: 7:00pm – 11:00pm

Closed Monday & Tuesday except for Oct. 25 & 26

San Diego’s only outdoor Haunted Attraction presents you a mile long trail with terror and the Carnival of Carnage maze demanded by people just like you. Located right in the Balboa Park, Haunted Trial will be a stroll through the park that you will never forget.

Recommend for age 10 or above.

Family Halloween Activities

Plan to have some fun with your family over the Halloween season? Here are some suggestions:

Park-Wide Halloween Family Day at Balboa Park

October 30th, 2010

11:00am-3:00pm

Among the highlights of this year’s Halloween Family Day is a doggie costume contest at the Spanish Village Art Center, a kiddie costume parade with prizes for best wildlife costume at the Natural History Museum, building miniature Day of the Dead altars at the Museum of Man, trying on historic military uniforms at the Veteran’s Museum booth on the Prado, and creating your own spooky steam engine at the Model Railroad Museum.

Admission prices as below:

Children 17 and under will be admitted free of charge to museums with a paid adult admission.

$35 for one adult admission to five park museums.

Haunted Birch Aquarium Where science goes mad!

October 22th – 23th, 2010

6:00-9:00 pm

Want to spend the Halloween with the underwater creatures with live music, water games, performances and more? Kids can also trick or treat at different sea-themed stations. Free tickets are being given away in celebration of the 10th anniversary for Haunted Birch Aquarium. Send a Tweet to @Birch_Aquarium or leave a message on their Facebook page about what is your favorite creep from the deep by Oct. 15th.

Open to all ages. Prices of ticket would be $15 and $17 at door. Children under 2 are free.

Brick-or-Treat Party Nights in Legoland

Saturdays in October, 2010

5:00pm – 9:00pm

Legoland prepared tons of activities for children to involve in this Halloween! There will be a Brick-or-Treat Trail to give a safe, fun and entertaining trick-or-treat experience for kids, with SEA LIFE Aquarium as the bonus station; costume contests held all night long; along with all new, live stage shows.

Admission prices as below:

$39 for Brick-or-Treat Party Nights – includes evening admission and SEA LIFE Aquarium.
$59 for Brick-or-Treat Hopper – includes full-day admission and SEA LIFE Aquarium plus 2nd day FREE.
