The Science of Chocolate – at Reuben H. Fleet Science Center

Reuben H. Fleet Science Center is showing another side of science this October. After all, science doesn’t have to be boring, and learning certainly shouldn’t feel like you’re doing homework. The Fleet presents: Science on the Rocks: Another Side of the Fleet, featuring The Sweet Science of Chocolate.

If you’re unfamiliar with the “Science on the Rocks” series, here’s what you need to know — “The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center is a place for people of all ages to play intelligently.” But it’s not just for the kids anymore. The Fleet has expanded the spirit of “smart fun” through an adults-only party, held after dark in Balboa Park. And thus, Science on the Rocks was born. It has grown to be a themed party for ages 21+ that includes music, flowing cocktails, and a ton of energy. Each party has a different theme, which brings a new focus to the food, features, and fun.

The Sweet Science of Chocolate is the theme for the Science on the Rocks program on Thursday, October 18, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets include exclusive access to tasty temptations, engaging entertainment, and inspired interaction.

Enjoy an array of hors d’oeuvres provided by Stone Catering, sip a complimentary specialty cocktail sponsored by BarWorks, and give into the temptation of Eclipse Chocolat. Stone Catering will be pairing beer and chocolate for you to enjoy, and Eclipse Chocolat will be proviging their artisan chocolates to induldge in.

Plus, you’ll also discover “Deep Freeze: Ice Cream in Seconds,” be able to design your own chocolate, partake in the “Chocolate Frenzy: The Group Challenge,” Learn about the alchemy of chocolate, practice some “Choc-o-Gami,” and much more.

Price: $20 for non-members; $15 for members, staff, volunteers, and Balboa Park employees; $18 for students and military
This event is open to adults ages 21 and over only. A cash bar features beers by Stone Brewing and select cocktails.
