Wine and Dine: Prohibition is a premiere wine, spirit and food tasting event in downtown San Diego, benefiting ElderHelp, one of San Diego’s oldest organizations to assist local seniors. The goal is to raise money to further help San Diego’s senior population remain independent in their own homes.

The event will be this Saturday, April 21, 2012 at The Westin Gaslamp Quarter
from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Wine and Dine features an evening of gambling, live entertainment and cuisine from San Diego’s finest restaurants. Attendees will rub elbows with mobsters, cigarette girls and silent film stars, shimmy to the sounds of the 20s on the non-stop dance floor and have their taste buds tempted with premier wines, specially crafted beers and prohibition era cocktails.

In addition to watching live entertainment and tasting fine wine, beer and cuisine from local restaurants, when guests learn the “secret password” they will gain access to the Viejas Game Room where they will be able to enjoy hand crafted prohibition-era cocktails and a host of casino games.

Guests will enjoy performances by SwingFX, bringing the 20’s charleston craze back to the dance floor and a ’20s era inspired vocal performance by Rosemary Watson paired with the jazzy tunes of the Sacha Boutros’ Moonshine Men Orchestra.

A trio of local celebrity personalities will be hosting including Chef Bernard Guillas of The Marine Room, Sports Anchor and Producer Derek Togerson of NBC San Diego, and Traffic Report and Morning Show Co-host Pamela Howe of KPRi FM.

San Diego resident for over 10 years, I now call this beautiful city home. Originally from the Bay Area, I'm a California girl at heart. I love the outdoors, fitness, food, and a good craft beer (from San Diego of course).
