October is the month of spooky happenings and watching scary movies with your best friends on a crisp fall night. Add some terror to your nights with a visit to the Whaley House in San Diego. This house was built in the 19th century and is one of the most haunted places in America. Along with the incredible architecture of the house, there is a long history behind the spooky happenings at the Whaley House.

Thomas and Anna Whaley took residence in the house in the 1800’s and Anna would talk about how there was a ghost that was haunting the house. Children would gather at her front porch in hopes of seeing the scary figure that she would spend so much time talking about.

This month of October is the best time of the year to visit the eerie location, because Halloween is a holiday of ghosts, goblins, and other monsters that you never thought about. There will be longer visiting hours, Past and present ghost tours, and after-hours Ghost Hunts through out the creaky home. You can be a part of a house that holds so much history to San Diego, and join the many people from around the world that travel long and far just to walk through this haunted house.

Along with the month of October, there are many tours and events coming up that you must participate in if you are interested in hauntings and embrace the month of Halloween. You can be a part of the A Dream Within a Dream: The Spectre of Edgar Allan Poe Visits Whaley House. This tour involves story telling and showings of Poe’s works including journals and drawings. Another tour that might spark your interest is the Halloween Nighttime Admission tour, when the house is open from 7pm-midnight. This is the absolute best night to visit the spooky house, considering it’s the night of Hallows Eve. You will hear stories of strange happenings and paranormal activity that has been experienced by visitors who have been inside the house as well. Tickets are $15 and you no longer have to worry about making any Halloween plans, because you can finally mark The Whaley house off your list of places you want to go in San Diego.

If you are serious about exploring the paranormal activity that is very much active in this house, you might consider a private with your friends or family. You must have at least two people and the price is $75 per a person. This hour long tour must be made two weeks in advance and is the perfect way to make sure you get a special experience while exploring this historic home.

Remember to capture the moment with pictures to prove to your friends what you really saw, and you can even submit them online so that the workers can see them as well. Create a night to remember and take your skeptic friends along with you to show them, that ghosts exist.
