The Westgate Hotel Kicks Off Summer with the 5th Annual Sunset Poolside Jazz Series

Every Thursday starting June 7 thru September 13, jazz enthusiasts will sway and groove to the sounds of Southern California’s finest jazz talents offering an eclectic jazz experience poolside at the Westgate Hotel. Set against a backdrop of downtown San Diego’s skyline at sunset, the event series will feature a different performance every week, complimented by signature cocktails, wine and craft beer, as well as a gourmet array of appetizers and tapas. The music starts at 6:30 p.m. and lasts until 9:30 p.m.

The talent is curated by Gilbert Castellanos, a leading top-call jazz musician, bandleader, composer, producer and educator in the San Diego and international circuit.

Award-winning mixologist Irving Gonzalez recently unveiled a collection of summer-inspired libations perfect for sipping at the poolside setting including the Copacabana Mai Tai, Hemingway Daiquiri and French Martini. Executive Chef Fabrice Hardel’s seasonal event menu features Grassy Bar Oysters, Octopus Carpaccio and Baja Prawn Tacos.

From solo artists to trios, the lineup of performers is sure to set the mood for a romantic evening or celebration.
