With the weekend approaching quickly, don’t make your plans too late. San Diego has plenty of exciting events to make the most of your weekend, so take advantage of them – they do not disappoint!
Friday, March 16th
Sound Science: Big Science for Little People
Presented by the Fleet Science Center at La Jolla Riford Library, this event is educational and entertaining. You’ll learn about the science behind sound through experiments using musical instruments. This family event brings the fun into learning something new.
San Diego Music Awards Pre-Party
Come on out to Karl Strauss Brewing Company on Santa Fe Street for great food and a wide selection of craft beer. Plus, you’ll get to see live music performances by Matt Smith, the Routine, and the Verigold’s.
Spend your Friday night at a San Diego Gulls Hockey game at the Valley View Casino Center. They’ll be taking on the Milwaukee Admirals, so grab some food, a cold beer, and your San Diego Gulls spirit and get in on the action.
Saturday, March 17th
This Pacific Beach bar will be serving up all the Irish favorites, including Jameson Caskmates and Irish coffees. Any rugby fans out there? Watch the England vs. Ireland rugby match on their large flat screen TVs. The day’s celebration will end with some authentic Irish tunes from a sunset bagpiper.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Festival
The largest St. Patrick’s Parade west of the Mississippi will be taking place in Balboa Park, and will feature a wide range of Irish culture, including live entertainment, craft booths, authentic food, a beer garden, and a Celtic village. Plus, the kids will be have their very own fun zone complete with rides.
St. Paddy’s Craft Beer Release
Sponsored by Ebullition Brew Works in North County San Diego. The event will feature live music by the Attaboy’s band and food by Jax Pizza. There will also be barbered haircuts by Dapper Jay’s. All attendees will receive a commemorative beer mug and shirt. All are welcome, even pets!
Sunday, March 18th
Check out a showcase of San Diego State’s marine lab facility and scientific research. The day will consist of interactive family-friendly activities, research talks, games, and a marine life touch tank. This FREE event aims to increase awareness in marine conservation and educate the public on local ecosystems.
North San Diego Certified Farmers Market
If you’re a fan of fresh produce and delicious food trucks, the North San Diego Farmers Market if the place for you this Sunday. Head on over to the Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead in Escondido for a Fun-day featuring a wide range of local farmers, growers, small businesses and merchants.
St Patty’s Day Weekend at Guava Beach Bar & Grill
Finish the St. Patrick’s weekend off right with some incredible drink deals – like $5 Jameson shots, $4 green domestic light drafts, and $12 corned beef and cabbage dinner.
