This weekend is all about getting into the holiday spirit and making sure your kids are feeling the holiday love. From brunch with Santa to participating in a chocolate making class workshop, it’s time to get cozy and start celebrating the holidays.

Friday, December 7th

A Festival of Carols

Caroling is the best way to start off the season, and The Musica Vitale will be performing at the Mesa College Art Gallery at 6 pm this Friday. Com to hear the beautiful compositions from local students from Mesa College Vocal Ensemble and Herbert Howells, Charles Ives, and Frank Ferko, along with others. Tickets start at $15.

Big Yiddish Chanukkah Party

Friday at 6 pm come out to the La Jolla Palms Clubhouse to celebrate the Yiddish culture. Learn more about this culture and don’t forget to bring a dish or a dessert to share with this delicious potluck. No need to purchase tickets, this event is free!

Santa’s Workshop Chocolate Making Class

Enjoy a Friday night of making special treats for your Christmas gifts this year. The Sweet Petite Confections is putting on a special chocolate workshop so that you can personalize your gifts this year, and make memories while being creative. Tickets start at $40 and the event starts at 6:30 pm.

Garden of Lights

The San Diego Botanic Garden’s annual gift to the community is the Garden of lights, taking place until the end of December. Come out this Friday at 4:30 to get your weekend started, and enjoy a night of entertainment, activities, hot coffee, and roasting marshmallows while sipping wine. Tickets start at $10.

Saturday, December 8th

Christmas in the Valley

This Saturday you can bring your whole family to Bates Nut Farm starting at 9 am to enjoy the Christmas in the Valley event. Enjoy live music, face painting, pony rides, and free arts and crafts. Indulge in gingerbread houses and a special singing contest, all by your family’s side. The event is free to attend.

Coaster Holiday Express

The North County Transit District is holding another Coaster Holiday express starting at 10 am at the Oceanside Transit Center. Bring your children and their friends for a round trip to Solana beach where your child can be visited by elves and other mystical creatures.

Toast of Gaslamp

Join the ultimate holiday party this Saturday at 1 pm in the Gaslamp Quarter. Start shopping for gifts and enjoy plenty of cocktails, discounts for shopping, and other tasty bites that you can sink your taste buds into. Tickets start at $25.

Cultured Eggnog Holiday DIY Workshop

The Fermenters Club is showing you how to make your own eggnog this Saturday at 3 pm at Holsem Coffee, with tickets starting at $42. The holiday sessions will show you how to make your favorite holiday beverage and you can show all your relatives how great of a cook and creator you are at all your holiday dinners this season.

Lip Sync Battle

Start the holidays off sassy and sweet at a special edition of Lip Synch Battle with San Diego’s best known Drag Queen, Mariam T. Enjoy a night of entertainment and laughter at the FInest City Improv starting at 10 pm with tickets that start at $15.

Sunday, December 9th

Holiday Magic

Happening all weekend long, you can head to Gallery 23 in Spanish Village to experience Holiday Magic. The exhibit displays the masterpieces of 50 local artists and is the biggest display at the Arts Center. Stop by to enjoy beverages, snacks, and other perks while stimulating your mind with creativity.

Beachfront Holiday Fun

San Diego will transform into a Winter Wonderland at the Beachfront Holiday Fun event, ongoing until December 30th at Belmont Park. Share your wish list with Santa and give back to the community with the help of The Salvation Army and participate in the Free Ride Toy Drive.

Christmas Teas

Enjoy a day of relaxation and with a delicious cup of tea in your hand. The Westgate Hotel is allowing you to sip on your favorite warm beverage in the Bordeaux Room starting at $50. Enjoy beverages, sweet treats, and of course, tea.

Historical True Crime Tour

The 1-hour Historical True Crime Tour in the Gaslamp Quarter will spook up your holiday season by exploring the stories of the past that happened in our city. Learn more about dark history that has happened in Gaslamp and bring your friends along to enjoy the ride with you. Tickets start at $15.

Brunch With Santa

Come out to Decoy with your little ones who can visit Santa while you sip on a mimosa. The price is $49 for adults with your favorite bubbly champagne and kids brunch is $19. Enjoy a day out with the family with your favorite breakfast drink in hand, starting at 9 am.

Kegs & Eggs

Enjoy a special brunch that will be rotated weekly throughout the holiday season. Duck Foot East Village Taproom and Kitchen will be posting on social media the rotations so that you can try all of their yummy brunch bites~ BRunch starts at noon and goes until 3.
