Stone Brewing Co. San Diego Beer Week events

From Nov. 4 to 13, Stone Brewing Co. will be the hottest place to be for San Diego Beer Week. For an entire week, there will be over 500 events taking place all over San Diego that highlight local breweries, restaurants, pubs, bottle shops, and other craft businesses. Stone Brewery will not only participate in over 30 of those events, they will also be hosting 11 of their own in Escondido at the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens.

Rare Beer Breakfast

Friday, Nov. 4, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Kicking off the event will be a breakfast party featuring chef Alex Carballo. Not only will there be an excellent buffet, but there will be an excellent lineup of rare brews to fill your commemorative glasses. A $65 ticket will allow you 15 three oz. tasters, a commemorative glass, dozens of tasty beers to choose from, an all you can eat menu, and live music out on the patio.

Bitter Saturday

Saturday, Nov. 5, 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.

Bitter Saturday is simple. Over 20 IPAs on tap all day long!

Beer & Chocolate: Double Truffles

Sunday, Nov. 6, 1 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.

Ever wonder which chocolate goes best with which beer? Check out the event on Sunday where exquisite chocolates will be paired with complimentary beers. Created by local chocolatier Dallman Fine Chocolates and Stone’s very own Pastry Chef Andrew Higgens, the menu is filled with amazingly rich chocolate truffles of various flavors. With six courses, each with its own chocolate and brew, the $44.71 ticket price is entirely worth it!

Beer U: Intro to San Diego Craft Beer

Monday, Nov. 7, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.

For those of you who may not know the history of this city’s glorious rise to prominence as one of the biggest beer towns in the country, this night is perfect. Stone’s very own Ken Wright will be chatting about what makes San Diego so special, all while you sample the best brews from all around the city. All for only $25!

Master Pairings Dinner: Stephen Beaumont vs. “Dr.” Bill

Tuesday, Nov. 8, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Over an amazing dinner, Stephen Beaumont and “Dr.” Bill will be battling it out to discover who the beer-pairing master really is. You’ll enjoy five courses of delicious and creative dishes, each paired with two beers chosen by Beaumont and “Dr.” Bill, and it’s up to you to declare a winner.

Book Signing: San Diego’s Top Brewers

Wednesday, Nov. 9, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

What better way to celebrate beer week than a whole book dedicated to San Diego’s beer scene? Bruce Glassman’s “San Diego’s Top Brewers: Inside America’s Craft Beer Capital” is a detailed looked at what makes this community so unique. Come get a copy and get it signed by the author himself. Stone co-founder Greg Koch and brewers from Iron Fist Brewing and Mother Earth Brew Co. will also be at the event to sign your book. Make sure you arrive before 6 p.m. because that is when Greg Koch will be leaving to attend another Beer Week event.

Women Only: Celebrating Craft Beer

Wednesday, Nov. 9, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Stone knows beer isn’t just for men so on Wednesday their Indoctrination Specialist, Kathryn Bouscaren, will be hosting a night just for the ladies. Come enjoy some flavorful beers and enjoy a chat about women in the beer industry and craft beer, all while surrounded by women who love a good beer.

Brewmaster’s Dinner: Ballast Point & Stone Brewing Co.

Thursday, Nov. 10, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Join Colby Chandler of Ballast Point and Stone’s own Mitch Steele for a delicious five course dinner, paired with 10 beers, with a Ballast Point-inspired surf and turf theme.

Meet the Brewer: Firestone Walker

Friday, Nov. 11, 6 p.m.

Always wanted to meet the award-winning crew from Firestone Walker Brewing Co.? Don’t miss out on your chance when the group visits Stone to continue their 15th Anniversary celebration. They will be bringing some extra special beers with them, including their brand new barrel-aged Firestone Walker XV!

Saison Saturday

Saturday, Nov. 12, 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.

“Dr.” Bill Sysak will be digging deep for his favorite representations of this classic Belgian farmhouse ale. It will feature nearly two dozen of the world’s best saisons on tap, all day at the inside and outside bars.

Stone Pour It Black Festival

Sunday, Nov. 13, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Stone isn’t going to let San Diego Beer Week end with a whimper! Instead they’re bringing you the first annual Pour It Black festival. Over 60 flavorful and unique porters and stouts from all around the world have been selected by “Dr.” Bill and his crew. Just how unique are these selections? Well, some beers have been aged in brandy or Jack Daniel’s barrels, or brewed with oatmeal, oak, coffee, rye, espresso, coconut, chocolate, bacon, smoke, and macadamia nuts. That’s just a starter. Get yourself a $45 ticket and don’t miss this epic conclusion to San Diego Beer Week!
