The Counter Brings Custom Built Burgers to Del Mar

By  |

The Counter is known for their premium burger concept, which offers more than 300,000 possible topping combinations to fit any taste bud out there. Counter toppings range from grilled pineapples, a roasted corn and black bean salsa, a variety of lettuces, country buttermilk ranch, basil pesto, fried eggs and even a classic favorite – dill pickle chips. The Counter opened its second location—The Counter Del Mar, in San Diego on March 28th at the Del Mar Highlands Town Center.

The first San Diego Counter restaurant is located in Carlsbad, and is the winner of the North County Times’ reader’s choice for “Best Burger and Fries” and Ranch + Coast’s “Best Burger.” This second location supplements Counter’s goal to bring more burgers to San Diego and introduce the “Counter Culture” to hungry locals.

Customers are provided with the option of picking Signature Burgers or Signature Burgers in a Bowl such as the Old School, Counter Cobb, Taco Turkey, Backyard Barbeque and Unique Veggie.

Or more daring customers can opt for the “Build Your Own Burger” option which allows guests to select from three different sizes of proteins: 1/3 lb, 2/3 lb or 1 lb burger ( all of which are all natural, hormone and antibiotic free, humanely raised and handled fresh Angus beef, chicken, turkey or house-made veggie). Next, comes the choice of 12 different types of cheese, 33 toppings, 21 unique sauces, and four types of bun.

The Counter Del Mar opened with a philanthropic event on March 26th when the restaurant opened and used the net proceeds from guests that dined from 7:15 p.m. to 11 p.m.  to benefit the Tony Hawk Foundation, which aims towards bringing public skate parks to low-income communities throughout the U.S.
