Is your life full of drama? Do you think you can be the star of a comedy? How about a mystery, musical or romance? Everyone has a story to tell, and the La Jolla Playhouse wants to know if yours is worth telling.

Now through June 30, the Playhouse is accepting entries for their Your Life; Our Stage contest. To enter, submit the title of your play, a photo, blog, video or original artwork as your show image, along with a short description of your life story.

The grand prize winner takes center stage. The Playhouse will commission Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife) to write a scene from your life story, and will hire professional actors to perform your play. Along with 10 friends, the winner is then invited to attend Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Stepsdirect from Broadway — at La Jolla Playhouse.  Following the performance, the Playhouse will host an exclusive performance of the winner’s play, right on stage.

“This one-of-a-kind contest will help us reach a whole new audience while providing a fun, interactive experience that fosters their creative ideas for the Playhouse,” said La Jolla Playhouse Managing Director Michael Rosenberg.

Other winners will also be awarded prizes, including dinner packages, theatre tickets and gift certificates. The more viral your entry, the more prizes available.

To submit your entry, log on the La Jolla Playhouse website, and follow the links to Your Life; Our Stage.
