Oscar Nominations were announced this morning for the 83rd Academy Awards. The awards show will broadcast on Sunday, February 27th, 2011 at 5pm PT from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

The biggest category, Best Motion Picture includes 10 nominees including: “Black Swan,” “The Fighter,” “Inception,” “The Kids Are All Right,” “The King’s Speech,” “127 Hours,” “The Social Network,” “Toy Story 3,” “True Grit,” and “Winter Bone.”

This years nominees are not only great films, but the nominations are quite significant. “Toy Story 3” is only the third fully animated feature film nominated for Best Picture. Previous nominees were “Beauty and the Beast” (1991) and “Up” (2009). In addition, it is only the second time that individual producers rather than companies were first cited in the Best Picture nominations (Scott Rudin is nominated for Best Picture for “The Social Network” and “True Grit.”)

There has been tremendous buzz around many of this years top picks.

“The Kings Speech” comes in with 12 nominations including, Best Picture, Best Actor Colin Firth, Best Supporting Actor Geoffrey Rush, Best Actress Helena Bonham Carter, Achievement in Directing, and Best Original Screenplay.

“Inception” and “True Grit” are both up for 10 awards including but not limited to Best Picture, Best Actor Jeff Bridges (“True Grit”), Best Supporting Actress Hailee Steinfeld (“True Grit”), Achievement in Directing, Best Original Screenplay (“Inception”) Best Adapted Screenplay (“True Grit”).

A few lesser known films also made the cut, including “The Kids Are All Right” (4 nominations) and “Winters Bone” (5 nominations)

All of the nominees can be found on the Academy’s website, www.oscar.com.
