The PurgeThe Purge

In a desperate and twisted attempt to decrease crime and prison cells, the United States government creates an annual “criminal free” holiday. Annually, citizens are allowed a 12-hour period to commit all types of criminal activity they desire – including murder- and not face the legal consequences of those actions.  However, this year the sanctioned day quickly turns into a nightmarish predatory-prey game as people start committing various atrocities. Those who are helpless have to endure without aid from hospitals and the police. The Purge centers on a man, James Sandin (Ethan Hawke), and his family as they face the ultimate struggle when an intruder breaks into their home and brings violence. James and his wife Mary (Lena Headey), along with their two children, find themselves forced to take desperate measures to live, while fighting to maintain their humanity. Will they survive? At what cost?
