St. Patrick’s Day events in San Diego
March madness is upon us and it is hard to decide how you’re going to celebrate this month with so many great events happening. To help with the brainstorming of ideas on things to do in San Diego we’ve compiled a list of fun events happening here in San Diego for St. Patty’s Day.
St. Patrick Beer & Wine Tours
Every day this march you can have the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of St. Patrick themed tours at the San Diego Beer & Wine Tours in La Jolla. Those who enjoy finely crafted brews can experience the Beer Tasting Dinner, Beer Train Tour, Brewery Bus Tour, or the Beer & Food Walking Tour. The tours can include travel along the beautiful coast, a guided brewery tour, beer games and prizes, and of course many opportunities to taste some delicious local craft beers. Ticket prices vary for each tour; ranging from $68 to $92. The St. Patrick Tours will be from March 1 to March 31.
Well known for bringing talent into the contemporary dance and arts field, the Malashock Dance group first began in 1988 under the founder and director, John Malashock. This year, Malashock Dance begins with a Celebration Benefit Concert to celebrate their 25th anniversary season. For this special event, Malashock joins with Gustavo Romero, a renowned pianist, to create a brilliant combination of dance and music to the composings of Leo Janacek. The concert will be at the Birch North Park Theater on March 8 and 9 at 8 p.m. Ticket prices range from $27 to $47 for general admission and $250 for VIP Admission.
Downtown San Diego Downtown is always a hot spot for St. Patrick’s day. This year, the producers of the world’s largest PubCrawl will be planning on creating a momentous event here with its first official San Diego PubCrawl. The Saint Paddy’s Day PubCrawl will be March 15-17. Registration for the event will be at Taste and Thirst on 4th Avenue. Many of the locations will have their own three hour drink specials that include $3 well drinks, $4 shots, and $2 draft beers.
Irish 4 a Day
At the Gaslamp Quarter, there will be another party to remember for Saint Patrick’s Day, the Irish 4 a Day event. Irish 4 Day is “San Diego’s #1 St. Paddy’s Eve Party Hop” and every year hosts thousands of party guests from all over the world. The event will be on March 16 from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. This 12-hour event will have fairies and leprechauns lead the celebrators around the Gaslamp Quarter to 20 different venues. VIP benefits include a Club VIP Passport that has 11 drink tickets, priority entry, green beads, and other fun stuff. The party will start at Brick + Mortar and close at Belo Nightclub. Tickets are $29 in advance and $40 on the day of. You can purchase them online or in person.
Zane Patrick’s Day
What a better way to experience some Irish luck than a Patrick’s Day festival? John Zane Lamprey, from “Drinking Made Easy,” will be hosting this fun and extravagant event. The festivities will be endless for anyone with games, prizes, contests, and some live Irish music. And there can’t be a true Irish event without an open bar of course. The event will be held on March 16 from 12 to 5 p.m. at McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon. Ticket prices range from $75 for General Admission to $85 for VIP and $150 for VIP Extra Bonus Access that includes an extra hour of drinking and private areas.
Launched in 1986, the 100-foot-long steam boat, William D. Evans, is the perfect mode of transportation for a beautiful night on the water. Aboard the ship, one can dance throughout the night on the ship’s two story dance floor as two DJ’s rock out. Party all night long up on the roof deck and enjoy some green drinks at any of the two bars. Guests must be 21 years or older. The cruise will be on March 16th from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Boarding of the boat will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Bahia Resort Hotel Dock. There will be free parking. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased online.
