After her recent guest appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show the original American Idol is back. Last week, Clarkson graced the small screen performing for Ellen and fans her greatest hits like “Miss Independent,” “Walk Away” and “Since U Been Gone.”

Well, Kelly Clarkson will be returning to the small screen this Thursday, April 14th on American Idol‘s stage to preform “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with country singer Jason Aldean. The duo will be featured on the results show for the current Top 8 American Idol contenders. Rihanna is also reported to be scheduled to sing alongside Clarkson but no confirmation on what song they will be singing. “S&M” is certainly  a good guess as it is her latest single.

Kelly Clarkson has preformed “Don’t You Wanna Stay” before with Jason Aldean, at the Country Music Awards back in November. Since then it has climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Music Chart.

American Idol is in its 10th season, which means it’s been 10 years since Kelly Clarkson made it to stardom.  The last time Kelly Clarkson was on the show she serenaded former judge Simon Cowell in a farewell performance.

The original American Idol winner, Clarkson has announced on Facebook that she will be releasing her fifth album. Although it was originally scheduled to be released in the summer, the album has been pushed back to release in stores this September. Clarkson says the album is “influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there’s a little bit of a country vibe/influence on a couple of songs.”

Much like her winning performance of “A Moment Like This”, Kelly Clarkson will surely shine on the stage on Thursday night.
