Grammy awards go to three locals

If you watched the Grammys last Sunday then you know that Beyonce’, Taylor Swift, and the Black Eyed Peas were the big winners of the night, but you may not know that among them was also Steve Vaus, a Poway resident. Vaus won the Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album for Children. Other nominees included Ed Asner and an album dedicated to Nelson Mandella. Steve Vaus is better known as Buck Howdy, a children’s entertainer who has been nominated four times in the past three years. “As a professional artist, there is no higher honor than to win a Grammy,” stated Vaus.

The Entertainer’s Local Music Alliance Play List Vol.4 was released Monday, February 1st. The fourth edition of the playlist features a great variety of ten local songs from San Diego artists free for download. The Local Music Alliance program was started last September as part of the Entertainer’s effort to support the thriving local music scene.
