Just last year, UC San Diego’s Tritones, a small group of 16 a cappella singers, sang a rendition of Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” at their Annual Fall Show. The performance was later posted on YouTube for all to see.

Rumor has it that Taylor Swift herself watched the video and liked the Tritones’ performance so much, that she invited the group of UCSD students to sing with her at the Academy of Country Music Awards this Sunday, April 18th.

Although unconfirmed, it is rumored that the Tritones will be traveling to Las Vegas this weekend to rehearse and prepare for the big performance, which will take place at the MGM this weekend.

Check out their performance of Taylor Swift’s ACM-nominated song “You Belong With Me” below.

The Tritones was the first a cappella group created on campus at UCSD. This year, composed of 16 singers, the group won first place at Regionals and made it to the International Competition Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) Semi Finals.

The Academy of Country Music Awards will air live on CBS at 5PM on Sunday. Be sure to look out for our local talented singers when Taylor Swift performs!
