LeBron James getting married in San Diego

The engagement happened on New Year’s Eve in 2011 at a private party in Miami, where Brinson received a seven carat pear shaped engagement ring from James.

Following the engagement, James’ close friend and Heat teammate Chris Paul as well as Miami Heat owner Micky Arison were among the first to spread the news, tweeting their congratulations.

The couple has decided to send out the “save the dates,” or should we say “save the weekend” cards, setting the dates of September 13-15.  Unfortunately the problem is that weekend falls on the beginning of Yom Kippur, which may cause conflict with some of the guests.

The cards sent out had the wedding information on one side revealing the location of the ceremony to be beautiful San Diego. Illustrated on the back side of the card was a caricature of the couple and their two boys, LeBron Jr. and Bryce, all sitting in a plane destined toward the beaches of sunny San Diego.

It seems that the couple has long forgotten the rumor from a few years ago of Brinson’s cheating and are happily engaged. When Brinson was rumored to have cheated with Rashard Lewis, Lewis came out with a statement in the summer of 2011 clarifying:

“That’s what I’m trying to figure out…now I come home and I hear the same rumors…those rumors are 100 percent false, they’re not true, I don’t know how they came up.”

Savannah Brinson has clearly stated that the media will always find a way to report on their relationship, and she is not interested in defending every single rumor. All she has to say is “Yes, we are definitely getting married!”

In recent career news, LeBron James won his very first championship with the Miami Heat last year. He’s also rumored to return to the Cleveland Cavs when he hits free agency in 2014.
