Monday was a sad day for “Desperate Housewives” fans and a day of rejoice for avid followers of Kate Gosselin’s TLC reality series, “Kate Plus 8.”

On the “Today Show,” Monday, Kate discusses the trials of raising her kids solo after she and Jon Gosselin divorced back in 2009.  She admits that it’s been a very difficult process with many stressful moments.  She says, “You’re going to see it (on the show), the good, the bad, the ugly.”

She also addresses the show’s cancellation rumors, saying that she and the kids will continue taping for “Kate Plus 8” as long as there are people watching.

While acknowledging the show’s continuation, Kate shares with Today’s Ann Curry that she is ready to start dating again and that her kids are supportive of the decision.

Kate goes on to talk about possible scenarios, where her closest friends round up eligible men.

“I have eight kids, I have a crazy work schedule, I’m known,” said Gosselin. “It’s sort of daunting when I think about the obstacles. I’m hoping that person is out there, because the kids on a daily basis are just begging me to get married again. They bring it up all the time.”

While the show “Kate Plus 8” is undergoing some changes as Kate enters the dating scene, the ladies of Wisteria Lane are ready to say goodbye to prime time TV.

ABC confirmed in a recent press release that the 8th season of “Desperate Housewives” will be its last.

When the show debuted back in 2003, it was already making waves and ascertaining itself as the iconic show it is today.

Paul Lee told US Weekly on Sunday, “I just wanted to make sure that this show that put this network on the map had its victory lap. And that ‘Desperate Housewives’ had a chance to build an arc for the 22 episodes that it ran, so that we can finally say goodbye to this iconic show.”
