Drew Barrymore radiated happiness at her wedding on June 2 when she tied the knot with Will Kopleman. Though this is Barrymore’s third marriage, friends agree that the Hollywood rebel from her past is gone and she is exuberant about starting a life with Kopleman. An insider told People magazine that, “She’s telling people that she’s finally ready for a quieter, more family-oriented life.” This new start for the two beaming newly-weds will be adding another member to the circle very soon.
Reportedly the couple will be expecting a baby later this year and the mother-to-be looked beautiful on the wedding day in a Chanel wedding gown that was specially tailored to her. The dress was custom designed for the actress by the creative director at Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld.
Being a famous celebrity like Barrymore clearly gets you some very high-class assistance in creating the perfect dress, but having a father-in-law that was a former CEO of Chanel might include some additional perks. She had fittings in Paris and Los Angeles before her wedding, ensuring that the dress would fit despite the growing baby bump.
Lagerfeld told InStyle.com the dress was a “pleated muslin and organza gown embroidered with tulle flowers,” and he said, “I think she looked beautiful and it fit her strong personality.” Couture with traditional touch, the bride also dawned a beautiful flowing veil along with her black satin belt and Chanel jewelry.
The wedding took place at Barrymore’s home in Montecito, California. Event planner, Yifat Oren, told People, that the actress “just wanted a backyard wedding.” A backyard wedding at a $5.7 million home is bound to be a little less quaint than the average backyard wedding. The star-studded guestlist included Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, and Jimmy Fallon.
Moving from her days as a child star in E.T. to the wild years Barrymore spent in Hollywood, it seems as though the actress, 37, has come to a new turning point in her life. With a ring on her finger and a baby on the way the star has much to look forward to.
