Exclusive Interview: Bizzy Bone from Bone Thugs-n-Harmony

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony will be coming to San Diego on Saturday October 27, 2012 to perform at 4th and B. In an exciting turn of events, the concert will feature all five original members: Krayzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Flesh-n-Bone, Wish Bone, and Layzie Bone.

The group, based out of Cleveland Ohio, had humble beginnings with the group members each experiencing their own hardships.

“We were a bunch of friends with a love of music and a want to get out of poverty,” says Bizzy who spoke exclusively with the San Diego Entertainer. “Our crew did the hustle, the bustle, and the grind and we moved forward. It took hard work; we were always on the road. Then we got opportunities to do something special.”

The group released their first album in 1993 and has gone on to become one of the most popular rap / hip-hop groups in history, winning a Grammy and an American Music Award.

“It’s wild, over the years we’ve all individually changed, but our music meshes everything together,” said Bizzy Bone. “We got this core fan base who’ve been with us through the years and now, those people are mothers and fathers and they’re bringing their sons and daughters to have fun at our shows! Everyone can see the magic!”

Bizzy says that the Bone Thugs have tried to above all, consistently put on great shows. Whether their performance was for a handful of people or for a sold out venue, they showed up singing their hearts out. Bizzy recalls, “some of my favorite memories involve doing shows in intimate settings where the crowd didn’t know we were there. And then we take the stage and everyone goes wild. That’s my favorite!”

Bizzy Bone said, “We’re crazy but we’ve worked diligently to stay active. There’s a survival ethic and a code to keep the mind in tune. Working, making money, living; it’s all in there! And you know what? There’s all that hoopla but at the bottom is a group of guys surviving. It’s one of those beautiful things.”

Indeed, the group has been making strides together as Bone Thugs-n-Harmony revealed that on November 27, 2012 their new album titled, “Art of War III” will be released starring all five members.

“San Diegans,” exclaimed Bizzy Bone, “come out and have a good time! Take your break, lean back, and see a good show. This is the first time in over a decade that all five of the originals are grouped up in a tour. We’re meshing, and it’s our 20th anniversary.”

Bizzy Bone thanked the San Diego Entertainer for the interview and gave one final thought, “You know, I wake up every morning singing. We all do. And it shows. A friend of mine told me it was a breath of fresh air seeing us five performing all-together, like when someone reaches out and gives you love.”
