‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ Comes to Theaters in May

After the official trailer for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5′ played during Super Bowl Sunday, the anticipation for the release inevitably skyrocketed. On May 26, 2017, Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom will be returning to the big screen for ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales.’

‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ emphasizes a similar tone from ‘The Curse of the Black Pearl,’ which was the first movie. In the new film, Captain Salazar escaped from The Devil’s Triangle and is on the hunt for every pirate at sea. Needless to say the comical star of the film, Jack Sparrow, is at the top of Salazar’s list of pirates to kill. In order to defeat Salazar, Sparrow must find the Trident of Poseidon, which is a mighty artifact that grants its owner control of the sea.

Fortunately, Johnny Depp is back and playing the beloved fan favorite, Jack Sparrow. Additionally, Orlando Bloom will be returning as the Captain of the Flying Dutchman, the role he took over at the end of ‘At Worlds End.’ The gorgeous Keira Knightly will have a smaller role, but will also return for the film.

Some new actors include Javier Bardem as Capitan Salizar and Brenton Thwaites as Henry. Kaya Scodelario will also star in the film as Carina Smyth, who is an astronomer fighting for her right to study at a university.

This is clearly an all-star cast, but Walt Disney Pictures’ crew is also impressive. The original Jerry Bruckheimer is serving as the producer and Jeff Nathanson wrote the script. The co-directors are Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg.

The original music composer, Hanz Zimmer will not be producing the music for this film. His protégé, Geoff Zanelli took the position so it appears the movie will still be in good “hanz” for music.

There are only about three more months until ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ comes to theaters. Hopefully this fantasy/thriller will live up to its expectations, but any film with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom is a winner in our book.
