Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2010 – Do You Believe in Angels?

By  |

Victoria’s Secret models did it again this year with another jaw dropping event. The show took place two weeks ago in New York City, and last night TV viewers around the world got to witness its splendor. The annual holiday fashion show was more than anyone could have bargained for,  introducing a gorgeous new line including a $2 million bra.

The show, which aired on CBS, featured Victoria’s Secret Angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Jane Swanepoel, Karolina Kurkova and many more. The TV airing of the event includes behind the scenes footage that allows TV viewers a chance to see the backstage madness. Every year the fashion show introduces VS’s new line of lingerie but this year an array of new themes were introduced including the untamed “Wild Things” and the heavy metal-esque “Tough Love.” There was the playful and flirty “Pink Planet” line and the sports-inspired “Game On” as well.  Most shocking was the country girl motif that featured one model in a straw corset and Alessandra Ambrosia in a baby-doll top and ultra low panties.

The center piece of the show was new mom Adriana Lima in the collection’s feature piece, a $2 million bra by Damiani that featured 1, 542 carats of white diamonds, blue sapphires and blue topaz, all set in 18-carat white gold.

Newlywed Katy Perry and Akon preformed on the runway appropriately singing “Angel” while the models wore the “Heavenly Bodies” theme. Along the catwalk, the camera caught several celebrity sightings: models Nicky and Paris Hilton and actors Adrian Grenier, Malin Akerman and Vin Diesel. Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine was also in attendance; he is currently dating Anne Vyalitsyna, a VS model herself. Fashion designers Zac Posen and Alexander Wang and tennis star Serena Williams also were present.

Most noticeably missing from this year’s show was former VS model Heidi Klum who announced her retirement from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show earlier this year. Also missing were two notable VS models, Miranda Kerr and Doutzen Kroes. Both models are currently pregnant, but will most likely continue the tradition of Klum and Lima who returned to the show with their sexy post-baby bods down the runway their following next season (Klum did it in 2009 and Lima did it this year).

It may be unclear if angels truly exist, but at least once a year Victoria’s Secret makes us believe.
