Jay Leno is back behind the Tonight Show desk and for his second show tonight he is welcoming two of San Diego’s biggest stars: Olympic gold medalist Shaun White and American idol finalist Adam Lambert.

Shaun White is fresh from his gold medal run at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, the second gold medal of his career, after showing off the amazing Double McTwist 1260. At 23 years old, White is enjoying overwhelming success.

He was just interviewed by the talk show queen herself, Oprah Winfrey, and now he’ll be among Jay Leno’s first guests during his return to late night. White has already mentioned that he’s game to head out to Sochi, Russia for the 2014 winter games so you will be seeing even more of him in the future.

Adam Lambert gave his first solo show over the weekend at the Fantasy Springs Resort in the city of Indio near Palm Springs, California. Fans traveled from all over the country to see Lambert perform a one hour set. Lambert has been dealing with controversy since what many considered a risque performance on the American Music Awards back in November and recently for criticizing Susan Boyle’s album. Surely fans will be watching to see what Lambert does next when he gives a performance on The Tonight Show.

Jay Leno’s return to late night has been amidst controversy. Just this morning Howard Stern ranted about Leno on the Early show stating, “just the mere mention of Jay Leno’s name makes me want to vomit.”

Leno returned to late night on Monday with a “Wizard of Oz” parody, waking up from a dream saying “there’s no place like home,” making it clear that he never meant to leave his Tonight Show hosting duties. It was as if Conan O’Brien never happened to The Tonight Show. Despite the criticism over his return, preliminary Nielsen ratings are showing that The Tonight Show was the number one show in its time slot beating The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Interestingly enough, the other guest on Tuesday’s Tonight Show will be Sarah Palin. Will you be watching San Diego? You can watch the tonight show at 11:35 pm on NBC.

Comments

  1. I watch every TV show that ADAM is a guest on whether he performs or not. Love his style, his sense of humor & his charisma as well as his FLAWLESS VOCALS! I watched his Saturday night concert which by the way was SOLD OUT &drew fans from all over the world as well as USA (Canada Mexico & So. America & the Far East) who flew in to see ADAM) on the Youtube. ADAM’s ACOUSTIC rendition of Led Zepplin’s WHOLE LOTTA LOVE was a musical MASTERPIECE & the crowd of 3500+ concert goers ROARED & APPLAUDED. ADAM is the real deal & I shall definitely watch to see what he will ENTERTAIN us with tonight. I urge everyone else to do the same.

  2. Aw I love Lambert and White. LOL at Palin…

  3. First off…Adam has also recently enjoyed a featured interview on Oprah and performed two songs for her show. I haven’t watched Leno in years…except the last time Adam was on a couple of months ago, and I will again tonight. Thank goodness for DVRs so I can skip forward through the Palin nonsense.

  4. Marilyn from Canada says:

I’m happy that Adam will be on Jay Leno tonight singing Sleepwalker. Fantasy Springs was absolutely incredible especially the acoustic version of Whole Lotta Love. Vocal acrobatics supreme! The whole Subo thing was way grossly misquoted.

I’m looking forward to seeing Sean too. He was excellent at the Olympics. Nothing seems too out-of-reach for him.

  5. I am so thrilled that Adam is going to be on Leno again…and singing Sleepwalker…I tape everything that Adam is on ..I am glad to see Leno back in the 10:35 Tonight spot. Love to watch Jay…Didn’t watch Conan, only when Adam was on…….Thanks for having Adam back….

Lilly. Adam’s solo concert at Fantasy Springs was sold out-and -there had never been one ad placed- his friend’s shared info-and by word- of- fans shared and tickets were sold out without a twitter by Adam or an ad. Then Fantasy Resort placed an article in their local news that they were amazed-people bought tickets from Japan,Thailand,UK,Canada and across USA. -stating it was firts time they ever got a response like that.
Also, Adam has a right to give his opinion on Susan Boyle’s CD and it was no controversy except in you mind and a couple others. I liked her before I heard her CD, not any more and I dont’ care about Adam’s opinion of it, I have my own tastes too.
As for AMA reaction, your negativity is shared by the 1500 of the 7,000,000 who saw the show and complained. FCC did not care- it is safe harbor for adult content between 10:00pm – 6:00am.& Adam’s performance was at 10:53pm but then it was quickly found out that the Central Time Zone aired it at 9;53pm or ABC would have ignored it too. As all the smart successful ladies of The View said” daytime soaps are more sexual and kids are home, and all the hoopla over Adam’s performance was laughable.
As for your enlightenment- miss negative lilly- Adam is first of season 8 to earn a Gold Record.; was voted #1 Artist Of The Year by Rolling Stone readers,;voted fav reality star by Oprah Viewers; named #8 Man Of The Year by Time magazine; named #3 Man Of the year by MTV, named #27 of top 50 sexiest men by People magazine, won Teen’s Choice award, won Young Hollywood Award, was asked to sing a song for movie (2012)before he even had an album released. Was named by Barbara Walters as one of ten Most Fascinating People, and to keep things in perspective-only 7 artists sold over a million in records sales all of 2009 and Adam has sold over half million in only 11 weeks so far. He has been called outstanding by all AI judges, the only contestant to get four judges give him a standing ovation, was praised by mentore, guest artists, and vocalists for his incredible multi-octave vocals and has many famous singers as fans. He is intelligent, articulate, creative, intrepidly honest, personable and never complains, makes excuses or blames. Adam’s performance at Fantasy Springs shows he will become the International Supestar the universe has designed him to be with the talent he was given. He is a good-hearted person who has taken hits form all sides, without whining, and with grace inner strength and self motivation to move forward, He is quick witted and fast tihinking and very courageous to live his life as an open book. So once in a while , consider some positive thinking, because we will watch Leno tonight to see one of the greatest new singer/performing artists in decades because of his talent, not to see if he will be controversial, because what your consider controversial is in your mind and tells us about Lilly not about Adam.

  7. Riannagray says:

I am a fan of Adam’s, I was unable to go to Fantasy Springs. I have seen the performances on youtube and would give anything to have been able to see that particular show!! The accoustic performance of WLL should go down in history! I will NOT miss him on tv.

  8. Lily Casas says:

I really appreciate all the comments on this story, thank you! I just want to clarify that I was in no way being negative about Adam Lambert. I used the word controversy to convey the ongoing public disputes about Lambert’s performance on the AMAs and interviews in the media. Thank you for reminding me that his show was sold out as I meant to put that in there because it was a big deal in Indio and I was glad the town received so much attention thanks to Lambert since I am from the area.

  9. Adam’s performance on Leno tonight was astounding.
better than the album version of Sleepwalker.
    He’s an exciting performer
    - very sparkly – and his voice is otherworldly.

  10. Agreed with everything ianaleah said. (The name’s very familiar, btw… must’ve run across you on twitter, I think)

And just to clarify, what Adam said about SuBo was completely misquoted. Adam said so himself. And anyone who’s ever heard an interview by him knows that he NEVER disses other performers or artists, no matter how much he might not like their work. He never insults them.

  11. I know someone that flew in from Demark to see Adam perform at Fantasy Springs! DENMARK for God’s sake! Adam is loved all over the world and is on his way to becoming the next International Mega Star the likes of which we haven’t seen in a very long time. I love Shaun White too! So proud of the SD boys!

  12. I did see the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Well, not all of it. I switched channels everytime Sarah Palin was on which, by the way, was way too long. I got tired of switching!.

Adam was AMAZING, as usual!!! I only wish they would have interviewed him.

I’ll watch anything that Adam goes on just to enjoy his wonderful talent and just to see him.

    LOVE ADAM!!!

  13. Adam was amazing again!! He gave a fabulous interview on an eariler show, sang beautifully -why take up time with a has been like Palin. Shaun White was dressed so much better than Palin; Shaun, Adam and Jay also have great hair. Maybe O’Reailly or Rush were crammed up in that rat’s nest on Palin’s head. Why would any one give her any airtime – she can’t snowboard or sing.? Please Jay ,I promise I will watch your show every night for however long you are on this time – just please don’t put that homophobic inarticulate idiot on you show again. Of course, David Letterman likes S.P. about as much as I do. He just did not hug Adam. Sorry Dave .

  14. I am continually looking online for posts that can facilitate me. Thx!
