Spring’s Super Foods

Spring is the season for blooming and gardening. It provides optimal conditions for the growth of some of the most nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables. This spring take advantage of the super foods in season, your body will thank you.
 
Strawberries:
Strawberries are nature’s candy, so eat a lot of them this Spring. Strawberries are full of antioxidants that help build immunity and promote eye health. Red Bell Peppers:
Red Bell Peppers are jet-packed with anti-oxidants that  keep your blood vessels clean and strong. The vitamin C in bell peppers also helps keep your skin looking beautiful and help prevent arthritis. The beta- carotene and lycopene antioxidants found in bell peppers are also linked with the decreased risk of cataracts.

Spinach:
Spinach grows best in warm days and chilly nights, so Spring is the perfect time to get good spinach. There are many things that make spinach a super food, such as: the vitamin c, folate, lutein and zeaxanthin, which together strengthen immune system, boosts exercise performance and assists in keeping a healthy eyesight.
Peas:

Artichokes:
Artichokes can be added to so many different dishes – this Spring, add them to some of your favorite recipes. Artichokes are rich in inulin, which promotes healthy bacteria and improves digestion. Artichokes also stimulate taste bud receptors, making everything taste better.

Asparagus:
Delicious asparagus is in season. Naturally grown asparagus thrives in the months of February – June and it contains vitamin K which helps transport calcium to the bones, and vitamin A which boosts the immune system. It is also a great source of protein.
