Tip of the Week: Smart Tax Planning and Saving Strategies with Financial Expert Steve Sexton

Last week on San Diego Living, Steve Sexton talked about smart tax planning and saving strategies both for reporting taxes this year and into 2013.

For tax saving strategies with 2010 filing, Sexton advises those employees with IRAs to find out how much money they can still invest in that IRA which will reduce their taxes — as it comes right off the gross.

Sexton encourages using tax advantage strategies, deferral or tax-free income strategies to reduce taxes by potential thousands per year as there are still 7 out of 10 people paying taxes on money they are not spending.

Also, Sexton urges the importance of knowing how your income flows into your tax return and plan ahead.  If you are not spending that money now, move it to another “bucket” and still get some growth and do this before 2013 when taxes change again.
