Recently, SDEntertainer’s own cosmetic surgery expert Dr. Kevin Calhoun of FinishBody in La Jolla was featured on an episode of San Diego Living which airs on the CW channel 6 in the local San Diego Area. Dr. Calhoun spoke about what individuals could expect from a body sculpting experience at Finishbody.
The liposuction procedure performed by FinishBody is called QuattroSculpt. It is a virtually painless procedure that implements local tumescent anesthesia, that mostly consists of lidocaine, a common anesthesia in dentistry, and saline.
He discussed how the procedure was particularly beneficial to those individuals who lead a healthy lifestyle including regular exercise and good eating habits. It is meant to target stubborn fat areas leaving the patient with a tighter and more perfectly sculpted body. There are many benefits of the QuattroSculpt method including the facts that the procedure is bacteriostatic, minimizing the chance of infection, and virtually bloodless. Even more importantly the patient is awake and mobile during the entire procedure which allows for more doctor – patient communication in the moments that matter most for optimal results.
Dr. Calhoun explained the four steps of the Finish Body QuattroSculpt procedure:
- Employ the use of the Tumescent anesthesia that shrinks the blood vessels in the area and pumps up the fat while numbing the connective tissues.
- Use both ultrasound and a titanium rod to gently emulsify the fat cells.
- Remove necessary fat cells in a calculated manner that would allow for that perfect body aesthetic that the patient is looking for.
- Use of the venus freeze procedure that would be performed at a later date and would serve to tighten up any loose areas for that perfect finish.
