@Darren nice try man, but some of us are actual historians. The Crow is an indie comic done by James O’Barr a man who was in grief after his girlfriend was killed by a drunk driver.

First of all, and I know this is showing what I gigantic dork I am by saying this, Batman and the above mentioned villans are all DC comic charachters, they will continue to be awsome and, as much as I hate to say it, probrobly now beat the living crap out of the Marvel charachters that we all know and love. I don’t wear my pocket protector with shame. I grew up not being able to play outside, I was a sickly kid, but I went around to ever bookstore, magazine rack and garage sale to build a collection of some of the greatest mythical heros of our time, I dispised disney and to this day have been proven again and again correct in my decision to do so. The same guy who gave us wonder woman (another DC charachter) and the lie detector also is responsible for the tyranical censorship of the American Comicbook Authority, it took more than 50 years for comic books to get violent enough to be believable, fans don’t want that progress to be flushed down the drain. The marketing geniouses that gave us televison shows with pre-teens that can’t sing should not be in charge of wheather or not the punisher can take a chainsaw to a drug lord, or render wolverin’s claws usful only at the hibatchi. I hope to god that when Marvel sold out, they at least retained creative control and freedom, lets hope that Disney doesn’t get deeper than advertising in the gore filled, time honored classics that have come to represent our modern mythology.

The best-selling comic book company in the world. Great storylines, great characters, all-around awesome company.

Disney:

Made a movie about a friggin’ goldfish that became human.

You tell me if Disney will ruin it.
(My vote: Disney will TRASH all of the heroes. Likely turn them into children and make a pre-school tv show about them.)

This sucks, just when all incredible plot lines were being produced this happens! I mean Spider-Man was getting sooo good and then this happens. X-Men was getting good and then this happens. I just hope this idiotic move doesn’t ruin these plot lines and story lines. Crossing my fingers for Marvel to stay as the marvel it is and definitely boycotting Disney and I think everyone that loves comics should do the same thing. Definitely a dark day in comic book history. No doubt about it.

to the person below me, this is true in fact disney owns a lot of the porn industry just under a different name, however what the main concerns are is that disney might see it as a better financial move to attempt to bring children into comics thus removing much of the violence and adding good values and other disney things, its true that this might not happen, but they might see it as a better move to make it appealing to children to get a new younger audience, Much like Nintendo did to the wii

Well said ARC, It was a sad day in the comic world and for those who grew up aspiring to be as great as those whom they read about. Lets just hope Disney does the right thing by preserving the MARVEL brand and the integrity of each and every character for which they have worked so hard to define.

I agree with Theory. Even though Disney has made some decent movies, and doesn’t exactly destroy companies..marvel will never be the same. This is on the same level of distress to the comic book reader as 9/11 is to every American out there.

Why is it that no one can remember that Disney owns nearly 100 companies. Why everyone keeps thinking that the Marvel universe will forever be destroyed is ridulous. 1st of all Disney is smart…if they jumped into this business venture not knowing that the target group for comic readers is no longer kids but mainly a mature audience…they wouldnt be the powerhouse they are. They arent going to spend $4 billion to take a succesful existing product and gear it towards an audience that isnt there. Current Marvel CEO remains CEO and will continue to oversee all Marvel projects.
