Best Date Night & Romantic Destinations in San Diego

By  |

Let us at SD Entertainer play Cupid. We know it’s challenging to find a romantic spot to spend a special moment with the woman or man you love. San Diego is a beach city, so there’s no question that there are a plethora of romantic destinations near you. Trust us, these are not your average date-night romantic spots. We’re upping the ‘WOW Factor’ with this list:

Looking to spend a romantic moment with someone special? Think outside the box and mix things up. San Diego has many hidden gems that even locals may not know about. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, just want a night out, or looking for some new things to do, there is plenty to explore in San Diego.

SUNSET CLIFFS – OCEAN BEACH

Sunset Cliffs is a perfect date night spot because it’s not only beautiful and scenic, but it is a fun place to hike with your loved one. Bring a blanket and have a picnic on the cliffs to catch one of the many amazing sunsets. If you haven’t checked out this spot yet, you need to!

This destination is a favorite among San Diegans and a romantic place to be with your favorite person. People are often seen taking long refreshing walks on the beach or even exploring the hidden caves.

HO CHI MINH TRAIL – BLACKS BEACH LA JOLLA

If you’re not a San Diego native, you might not know Ho Chi Minh Trail exists. Black’s Beach is known to most as one of the prettiest beaches in San Diego and there is a hidden trail off of the beach with a rope to climb up to reach the top of the cliffs (warning: portions of Blacks Beach is clothing-optional). It is one of the most beautiful and romantic settings of the La Jolla shoreline, it is a fun hike and would be a perfect spot to have a little picnic once you make it to the top.

Bring a backpack to carry your food and enjoy one of the most dreamy spots in San Diego.

VOLARE – BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN SAN DIEGO – POINT LOMA

Looking for an authentic and cozy place to get some Italian food with your babe? There are a lot of places to choose from in San Diego for good Italian food, but this place is family owned and operated. This adorable restaurant has the best Italian food and is the perfect date destination as it’s casual and gives off a nice ‘Mom & Pop’ vibe.

My personal meal suggestions would be their Chicken Parmigiana or homemade Spaghetti, but whatever you choose don’t forget to grab some cheesecake or a cannoli for a sweet dessert. This place is small, comfortable and located in Point Loma.
