Festivals/Multi-day Events

Check out the 4th Annual Ultimate Boarder Championship, a triathlon that incorporates skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding into am eight day competition amongst some of the nations most daring athletes. After coming from the snow at Mammoth on April 2nd, the skate and surf portions of the event will be held at Seaside Reef from April 4-9.

Head over to the Del Mar Fairgrounds for the Goodguys 11th Meguiar’s Del Mar Hot Rod & Custom Car Nationals. Get a look at some of the finest Muscles, Rods, Customs and Classics being displayed Friday through Sunday.

March up to San Marcos for their annual Grand Spring Festival this Sunday, April 3rd. Children’s rides and live entertainment will provide fun for the kiddies, while adults can grab a brew at the beer garden.

Helping Out

Get stuffed at the Sustainable Feast held at the Little Italy Farmer’s Market in Amici Park. Experience a culinary adventure as gourmet chefs pair up with local farms to cook up some delicious goodies to raise money for outdoor education programs.

Learn a world of dances from instructors Mary Manzella, Shawn Torgerson, Jill Perez, William Valencia at Dance For 2 in Clairemont Mesa for their Dance-a-Thon for Japan on Saturday. The $40 donation for a day of workshops or $15 per class will go to the AmeriCares Pacific Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund. Also providing relief for the devastation in Japan is the Taz Taylor Band. They will donate a third of their ticket sales from their April 2nd concert at 4th & B to help the Red Cross efforts.

Entertainment

Some great entertainment is on its way to San Diego this weekend. Starting off early tonight is a sold out show from the Chris Robinson Brotherhood at The Casbah while 4th & B hosts a Comedy Night featuring George Perez with Tommy Chunn, Honest Jon, and Aida Rodriquez.

Support the arts with Friday Night Live at the NTC Promenade. Witness Recreational Music students take the stage with solos, a band, or ensembles from 5:30pm to 8pm. Then Saturday kicks back into concert madness at Belly Up in Solana Beach as She Wants Revenge takes the stage that night, then closes the weekend out with a special performance from the multiple Grammy-winning Brian Setzer Orchestra on Sunday.
