The Pokémon World Championship comes to San Diego this weekend — at The Hilton San Diego Bayfront. The highly anticipated event is huge among the TCG community.

TCG, or Trade and Collectible Card Game Players have been competing nationally and internationally in order to qualify for the event. With all the qualifiers in place and the teams set, the event is coming to a close in our city.

With over thirty countries competing for the card game title, other countries will be competing for the video game challenge. The countries in the video game challenge are comprised of U.S., Japan, France, the U.K., and Germany.

The U.S. will make its presence felt at the video competition with over 32 players at the event. The youngest of the U.S. team is Jeremiah at the ripe old age of 11. Jeremiah was born in San Diego, and is representing our city at the event. Along with Jeremiah there are 31 other competitors on the U.S. team. Their ages range from 7 to 44 years of age and are looking to crush the competition.

With such a wide variety, and over 350 players in the championship, two titles will be given. The titles that will be given will be one for the junior category, and one for the senior category. The tournament begins at 9:30 AM on Friday, and at 9 AM on Saturday, and the Entertainer will be covering the event.
