11.11.11 Event to Support San Diego Teachers

Given the fragile state of the local economy, we hear too often about the struggles with our school systems to adequately provide for San Diego students. Did you know that since the 2007-2008 school year the San Diego Unified School District alone has been forced to cut $450 million from its budget?

The budget cuts have affected our local schools, teachers, friends and children. The public education system needs our help. Rest assured, help is on the way.

This November 11th, the San Diego chapter of Philanthro Productions will be throwing an event called ALLiance at the W Hotel. All five Philanthro chapters will be throwing events in their cities to raise money for DonorsChoose.org. 100% of net proceeds will be donated to funding teachers’ projects in each city’s respective communities through DonorsChoose.org. The goal of Philanthro’s all-city event is to raise enough money to fund at least three projects in each city. Learn more about the project in this short video.

Past Philanthro events including have been a tremendous success, and they invite you once again to take part in raising money for a great cause. The event includes DJs, activities and special performances spanning the W’s three floors including the lobby, Living Room, and the rooftop lounge, Beach.

In addition to creating a vibrant club environment which Philanthro does so well, they are also bringing in body painters, a photo booth, snacks from PopChips, and special performances by Kruciaal Element and CREW.

The event is going to be the biggest of the year for Philanthro Productions. Now in its second year, the Philanthro All-City Event raises funds for different charitable causes each year. All cities will be host events on the same night to make a big impact.
