Hillcrest’s CityFest 2009 is this weekend!

The Spirit of Hillcrest presents CityFest 2009, a music, food, art and cultural street festival. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better then last year for it is the 25th anniversary of the historic “Hillcrest” neighborhood sign. In honor of that anniversary, a grand pavilion will be erected under the sign and a relighting ceremony is planned for 9pm. Leading up to the relighting will be a Lantern Parade which will start at the corner of Robinson & 5th Avenue.

There will be over 250 vendors offering an array of food, arts & crafts and interactive games. A beer garden will be available for those over 21 and plenty of activities will be available for the kids such as face painting, games and various rides. CityFest will feature a great line-up of local and regional performers as well as the highly anticipated theatrical stilt walkers.
