Celebrate Halloween Aboard Flagship Cruises

By  |

While it may not feel like the fall season is coming, before we know it, it’ll cool down and be time for one of the most “spirited” holidays of the year (…Halloween — get it?). Before the weather cools off too much though, you may want to explore everything that our beautiful harbor has to offer via Harbor Excursion and their very own Flagship Cruises and Events.

With Navy ships, sea wildlife, and amazing views of our city skyline, San Diego’s bay is certainly one to see. San Diego Harbor Excursion has been one of the leading touring companies in this city since 1915, providing tours of the north bay (with unique views of the Naval air station, Cabrillo national monument, and the Pacific Ocean) and the south bay (including the Star of India, the Coronado bridge, Seaport Village, and Hotel del Coronado landmarks).

Whether you’re a visitor of this great city, or live here full-time, you will probably find out some things you didn’t know when the knowledgeable tour guide begins pointing specific things out during your one or two hour cruise.

If you’re looking for something special to do for Halloween next month, make sure to check out Flagship’s Halloween Party Cruise. Taking place on Saturday October 27, 2012, this party promises to be one you and your friends will never forget. Dress up in your best vampire and werewolf costumes, and enjoy a night out on the water while DJs play the hottest beats over two levels of the ship. Costing $40 each, the cruise is a whopping three hours and includes a complimentary boarding cocktail (there’s free coffee and tea offered also), as well as a chance to win the prize for best costume. For $60 you can get a VIP ticket which includes priority check-in and boarding, exclusive drink specials not available to anyone else, a separate VIP line at two bars, and two complimentary food tickets which can be used to buy street tacos and quesadillas.

If you consider yourself a wine connoisseur, try out Wine Wednesdays, which is a great way to get through that middle of the week hump. Ending on October 31, this special wine cruise costs $66.50 a person and lasts two and a half hours. While aboard, you can buy wines at a 50% discount, from $25 to $50 a bottle, while being pampered with complimentary champagne, a 3-course meal (with vegetarian options), and the lovely skyline.

If the above cruises aren’t really your thing but you want an adventure out on the waters, whale watching may be the best bet. Great as a gift, a whale watching excursion allows you to get up close and personal with majestic Gray Whales. All tours are guided by Birch Aquarium Naturalists so you know that you’re getting the most up-to-date information. You also get a take-home Gray Whale Fact Sheet, onboard snacks, and coupons to the Birch Aquarium. Since whale sightings are guaranteed, if you for some reason don’t spot any, you can take another cruise for free. While whale watching season doesn’t begin again until December, you may want to call up and reserve a trip sooner rather than later, that way you get the exact date and time you want. Tickets range from $17.50 to $40, depending on what day you want and whether you need a child, adult, or senior/military ticket.
