By  |

Adams Avenue is a two-mile stretch of culinary and cocktail heaven that links University Heights, Normal Heights and Kensington. The thriving dining scene as added recent features neighborhood favorites like Blind Lady Ale House, Rabbit Hole, Sycamore Den, Burnside, Dao Fu, Dark Horse Coffee, Cantina Mayahuel, Polite Provisions and Soda & Swine (and that’s only in Normal Heights). More restaurants are slated for opening in the coming year including Tajima Ramen Bar and Beerfish.

Adams Avenue hosts a multitude of events including music festivals, street fairs, and always popular Taste of Adams Avenue. On Nov. 28 the Adams Avenue Business Association is adding a new event to the mix with the first annual Adams Avenue Spirit Stroll. As part of Small Business Saturday, head to Adams Avenue from 2:00 – 5:00 pm and check out the local food and beverage spots as well as local shopping.  This festive sip, stroll and shop event will feature some of the most popular independently owned businesses in the neighborhood. The event is open to adults 21 & up.

Adams Avenue Spirit Stroll will feature 12 spirited tastes mixed and poured by some of Adams Avenue top bartenders representing the following bars and restaurants, including the Air Conditioned Lounge, Blind Lady Ale House, Cantina Mayahuel, El Zarape, Jayne’s Gastropub, Kensington Club, The Ould Sod, Polite Provisions, Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant, The Rabbit Hole, Rosie O’Grady’s, and Sycamore Den. Their tasty libations will be served at the following retail locations, including Adams Avenue Book Store, Artisan Collection/Artful Ruins, Back from Timboctou, Brooklyn Bicycles, Heights Optometry, Home Start Thrift Boutique, La Loupe Vintage, Liquid Eden, Maven, Pet Me Please, Villainous Lair Comics and Gaming, and Zac’s Attic.

Advance tickets are $18 at www.adamsavenuebusiness.com. Day-of event tickets can be purchased for $20 cash at the will-call booth at Smitty’s Auto, located at 3441 Adams Avenue, beginning at 1:30 pm.

San Diego resident for over 10 years, I now call this beautiful city home. Originally from the Bay Area, I'm a California girl at heart. I love the outdoors, fitness, food, and a good craft beer (from San Diego of course).
