La Casa Blanca in La Mesa is a quaint and cozy Mexican restaurant filled with inviting, traditional Mexican décor. Complete with large wooden tables with inlaid Mexican tiles, family-friendly service, fresh, homemade tortillas, and, of course, great Mexican food, La Casa Blanca is sure to make it to your short list of favorite Mexican restaurants.

With just around twenty tables, the wait at La Casa Blanca is typically not long as the tables are turned at a steady but comfortable pace. On the menu, you’ll find the traditional Mexican entrées and combination plates, all prepared to your highest expectations, as well as several house specialties. The Tortilla Soup is one of the favorites among the house specialties and is served in a quaint La Casa Blanca kettle.

For the more adventurous eater who likes it on the spicy side, try the Camarones a la Diabla. The shrimp are perfectly sautéed in a spicy red sauce with onions, tomatoes and cilantro. Their Mexican-Style Shrimp Scampi is a great, spicy version of the original.

One of La Casa Blanca’s claims to fame is their Puerto Nuevo-Style Lobster (when in season) served with drawn butter, pico de gallo, rice and beans, and their unbeatable homemade tortillas.

The house made tortillas are made discreetly right there in the corner of the dining room on weekends and are immediately served in a basket with butter and brought straight to your table – a great, decadent touch to your overall dining experience.

La Casa Blanca is open for lunch and dinner every day and serves up a tasty breakfast on the weekends. A great deal is their all-you-can-eat Champagne Brunch offered for just $12.95.
