Following the lift of the controversial foie gras ban in California, Kitchen 4140 will host a prix fixe foie gras dinner on Monday, February 2, 2015.
Sirena, a gourmet Latin seafood restaurant, officially opened on October 15 in Little Italy, San Diego. Located on the corner of Columbia Street and Fir Street, Sirena will showcase a unique menu featuring locally-caught seafood, sustainable and locally-grown vegetables and dishes influenced by South American cuisine and culture.
Each autumn, the Great American Beer Festival is held to celebrate brewing, tasting, enjoying and comparing the sudsy drink. This year, Denver’s Colorado Convention Center saw ten different nations send 220 judges to choose among more than 5 thousand beers. There were 90 separate categorizations of prizes, and our local brewing industry, on the rise for many years, did quite well. 14 medals were presented by the Brewer’s Association to breweries based in America’s Finest City.
Once again, the calendar turns, the seasons change and now it’s fall, and that means beer and German food and celebrations. For autumn, here’s four different Oktoberfests being held soon all around San Diego County: Karl Strauss 25th Anniversary Oktoberfest in Pacific Beach, Pacific Arts Movement Oktoberfest in Liberty Station, The Taste of North Park Oktoberfest in North Park and German American Societies of San Diego, Inc. Oktoberfest in El Cajon.
