According to reports, King often runs in the Rancho Bernardo Community Park. The park lies on the southern shore of Lake Hodges and includes trails that weave through hills and connect to Lake Hodges.

Search crews were dispatched last night and today the search continues. San Diego County search teams have enlisted special canine units to aide in the search and boats have been brought north to assist in the search on Lake Hodges.

Rancho Bernardo-area residents have been contacted and alerted to report if they have seen the teen. In this time, we ask that all members of the San Diego community remain alert. Anyone with information on King is asked to report to the sheriff’s department (858) 565-5200) or the county Crime Stoppers (619-531-2000). King is white, around 5 feet 5 and 115 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Cuckoo for cupcakes – San Diego’s newest cupcakery opens with a bang

Grand Opening of Cups La Jolla

Grand Opening of Cups La Jolla

The place to be last Saturday night was not some swanky downtown lounge, fancy restaurant, or crowded club in the Gaslamp – it was a bakery. Yes, a bakery.

Cups is a new, and very unique, all organic cupcakery in downtown La Jolla whose grand opening celebration on January 30 was a tremendous success.

If you have walked around downtown La Jolla recently, a weekend or evening pastime that I highly recommend, you may have seen the storefront of Cups boarded up with an alluring “Coming Soon” banner outside. Originally I thought, “not another one.” Read more

Leading up to the much-anticipated playoff game against the New York Jets, San Diego football fans were geared up and ready to go. The Chargers were big favorites over the Jets and their rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez.

As of Sunday evening, many Charger fans were asking themselves, “what happened?”

In what was likely the worst gameplay of the season, Rivers, LT, Sproles, Merriman, and perhaps most surprisingly of all, kicker Nate Kaeding, failed to deliver on the field.

The first half of the game was riddled with penalties, costing serious yardage, and in my opinion, inevitably the win. Nate Kaeding’s three failed field goal attempts did not help either. Read more

Visit from an Idol: Interview with Bucky Covington

Bucky CovingtonWhen down home southern boy meets country rocker meets main stream reality show, the product is the unique talent found in Bucky Covington. You might remember Bucky from Season 5 of American Idol or from his chart topping self titled debut country album.

Bucky has been busy since he first exploded onto the scene on American Idol, where he made it to the top 8. Since then, he’s done everything from releasing a record setting album, going on tour, and appearing on TV and in the movies.

Coming off a whirl wind debut, Bucky got into the Christmas spirit earlier this month at the annual Carols by Candlelight concert at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido.

We were met by a surprisingly tall long-haired North Carolinian with true down-home southern charm. His charisma and approachability are undeniable. Over the past two years he’s been honing his skills and growing as a singer, song writer and performer. There’s no denying that he is a busy man with a bright future in the spotlight.

After leaving San Diego, he’ll be heading to Albuquerque, then back to Nashville where he will get back into the studio to finish up his second album, “I’m Alright” to be released spring of 2010. Despite the busy schedule, he sat down with us to chat about where he’s been and what where he’s going. Read more
