Moonlight Shoots For The ‘Moon’

RingRoundTheMoonMoonlight Stage Productions has assembled a dream cast of actors to bring Ring Round The Moon to the stage for a three-week run beginning Thursday, March 4.

With a nod to George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion and the fairy tale Cinderella, the play is set under the dazzling lights of a French winter garden and centers on twin brothers. When one brother thinks his twin is entering a loveless marriage, he plans an evening of charades to save his sibling. What follows is a night of mistaken identities and misguided love affairs with unexpectedly happy results. Filled with charm and sparkling wit, Ring Round The Moon is a lavish romp where fairy-tale dreams come true.

Written by one of the 20th’s century most gifted authors, Jean Anouilh, the play was adapted for the English stage by playwright Christopher Fry. Jason Heil directs the production that features: Howard Bickle, Mary Bogh, Danny Campbell, Jim Chovick, Jill Drexler, Frances Gercke, Annie Hinton, Hannah M. James, Jessica John, Ralph Johnson, Ryan Hunter Lee, Veronica Murphy, and Francis Anita Rivera. Also featured in the cast are Don Evans and Hannah James.

Fry adapted Anouilh’s original French play L’invitation au chateau. The original premiered in Paris in 1947, with the English version debuting in 1949. Ring Round The Moon has been enjoying recent revivals in New York, London and Australia.
