Ocean Beach Frequency Film Festival: San Diego director and three other directors attending

freq3Featuring “Narrative & Documentary Feature Films From Around the World”, the 2013 Frequency Film Festival comes to the Ocean Beach Playhouse this week. Located at 4944 Newport Ave., San Diego, CA 92107, the playhouse will host the festival from May 30 through June 8, 2013.

The Frequency Film Festival is not a competitive festival and does not have awards or judges. The festival will showcase many different genres of films: Documentary, International, Horror, Action, Drama, Western, Thriller, Animation, Sci-Fi, Comedy, Musical, Experimental, LGBT, Crime, Romance, and Family. The mission of the Frequency Film Festival is to discover and promote unique and exciting films from around the world and to screen them in Southern California.

“Mongolian Bling”, directed by Benj Binks. The film is from Australia and Mongolia, and is in Mongolian and English with English subtitles. Released in 2012, it’s a documentary featuring culture and music and runs 90 minutes.

“Here Without Me (Inja Bedoone Man)”, directed by Bahram Tavakoli. This film is from Iran, in Persian with English subtitles. It was released in 2011 and is a family drama that runs 100 minutes.

“Delusions of Grandeur”, directed by Iris Almaraz, Gustavo Ramos. Almaraz will be in attendance at the screening, and will be available for questions and answers afterward. This a film from the USA, in English, released in 2012. It’s a coming of age drama with LGBT themes, and runs 95 minutes.

June 6, 2013

“Thanatomorphose”, directed by  Éric Falardeau, who will be in attendance. The film is from Canada, in English, released in 2012. It’s in the horror genre, and runs 100 minutes.

June 7, 2013

“Louder Than Love: The Grande Ballroom Story”, directed by Tony D’Annunzio, Karl Rausch. D’Annunzio will be in attendance. The film is in English and was released in 2011. It’s a documentary, concerning history and music and runs 75 minutes.

“Underexposed: A Women’s Skateboarding Documentary” directed by Pro-Skateboarder and San Diego Resident Amelia Brodka, who will be in attendance, and available for Q&A after the screening. The film is from the USA, and is in English. It was released in 2013, and is a sport documentary, running 90 minutes.
