San Diego Music Awards coming to Viejas Sept. 10

The nominees have been announced!  It’s that time of year again when the most talented and dedicated  San Diego musicians come together to await their moment of glory, to see where their countless hours of writing, practicing and performing is rated in the eyes of their listeners and fans.

The 19th annual San Diego Music Awards will take place Thursday, September 10th at 7pm. The venue this year will be at the impressive outdoor Viejas’ Concerts in the Park. With over twenty five categories spanning a variety of genres, there are plenty of bands to vote for.

The awards ceremony will have a display of live performances from Players Inc featuring members of Slightly Stoopid, Scarlet Symphony, Get Back Loretta, Steph Johnson, The Silent Comedy, Burning of Rome, the San Diego Blues All Stars and a special performance from the 2009 Lifetime Award Winners, The Zeros.

The San Diego Music Foundation has worked very hard throughout the years to enhance the local community. The show has raised of $500,000 dollars since 1991. The funds have been used to assist Handicapped Teen Centers, fund arts programs with the San Diego Unified School District and to fund the fund the placement of music equipment into School in San Diego.  Music is beautiful and for many a necessity. Events like these boost our community and introduce alternative hobbies to our citizens. Come out and support your local music scene!
