Chris Brown’s Interview with Larry King

By  |

Chris Brown appeared on Larry King Live this past Wednesday night to plea for forgiveness over his violent actions against ex-girlfriend Rihanna.  Brown told the host that he was ashamed of himself for assaulting Rihanna, but wouldn’t go into detail of that fateful evening out of respect for her privacy.

Brown tried to explain why he lost his temper and turned to violence. He comments “I feel like that just there – there’s – we’re young. We’re both young. So nobody taught us how to love one another. Nobody taught us a book on how to control our emotions or our anger.” Despite his violent outburst, Brown confesses that he is still in love with Rihanna.

Chris Brown pleaded guilty in June to felony assault and has since been sentenced to five years probation, 180 days of community service, and a year-long domestic violence program, but no jail time. Richmond, Virginia’s Police Chief Bryan Norwood states “We are prepared to put Mr. Brown to work.”

Though public opinion shows they are not impressed with Mr. Brown’s attempt to explain the situation, Brown remains confident that his existing fame could be used for something good. He states that he is willing to do whatever the court asks, but remarks “with what I’m capable of doing as far as influencing people, influencing kids, the youth, I can do a lot more to help the community other than picking up trash.”
